Invitations (DIY)

Our invitations were a labor of love... they took a lot of time and effort, but I think it was worth it.  I got exactly what I wanted.  It saved us a lot of money too.  Here's the price breakdown:

* Pocketfolders: $0.98 each, from cardsandpockets.com.  I got 150 for pocketfolders and 150 cream envelopes for about $180.00 (includes shipping).  I ordered too many  pocketfolders - see the "for sale" page if you want some!
* Bellyband Ribbon: $14.50 for 100 yds. from bagsandbowsonline.com... more than enough, we'll use extra for OOT bag tags and we'll still have a ton left over!
* Cream Cardstock: $12.99 for 250 pages, from Office Max.  I ended up using more than 1 package, so we'll call it $26.00.
* Orange Cardstock: $0.29 per page, from Archivers.  I bought 75 sheets for the inside and 10  sheets for the bellyband.  $0.29*85 = about $25.00.
* Glue Dots: $9.99 for 360 dots, from orientaltrading.com.  May be cheaper elsewhere, I didn't shop around too much for these.  I ordered 2 packs, so $20.00 total.  I think I had a half-off coupon in there at some point too, but I won't count it here. :)
* Postage: $0.28 for postcard RSVPs and $0.61 for the whole thing.  We only ended up mailing 102 invitations, so the postage was about $90.00

Total: $355.50... For 102 invitations, and including postage, they cost us less than $3.50 each!  I think that's pretty good... before I decided to DIY them, the websites I was looking at had 150 invites and RSVPs for at least a few hundred dollars and that's without postage and without all of the inserts I wanted and no cute pocketfold design.  Also, I had enough for 48 more invitations with no extra cost other than postage.

Caligraphy

My step-sister graciously offered her caligraphy talents for our invitations... I think they made them look so pretty - the icing on the cake!

Stamps

I love the cake stamps - I think they are so pretty.  The polar bear stams were the only postcard stamps available, so they went on our RSVPs.  I think the bear is cute! :)  The ring stamps were used for thank you notes.

Save The Dates (DIY)

I made our Save The Date postcards from orange card stock and printed them on our home printer.  3 fit to a page, and I made about 80 (we weren't sure about some of the guest list, so we only sent them to the must-invite list).  The paper for the 80 STDs cost about $8.  The postage was about $22, so it was only about $30 total! :)

Programs (DIY)

I made these to mimic the layered look of our invitations.  Each one used 2 pieces of cardstock and about 10 inches of brown ribbon.

Table Numbers (DIY)

I am in love with our table numbers!  They are set up like postcards... there is a # and a place we have been on the front, then a description of our trip on the back.  I hope it gives guests something to talk about and I hope they go from table to table to see them all and mingle with everyone else.

They'll be held up by leaf-shaped holders... I'll be selling them afterward, so check out the For Sale page!

Menu Cards (DIY)

Picture
We're doing a plated chicken/pork chop dinner.  Even though they're picking what they want, I thought it would be nice to give them a "refresher" before dinner. :)  Also, I listed the sides and the flavors of cupcakes which they didn't get to know ahead of time.

We'll have 1 menu card on each table.

Place Cards (DIY)

Pretty standard... every guest will get one to show them which table they are assigned to for dinner.  Color will indicate meal choice: cream is for the chicken and orange is for the pork chop.

OOT Welcome Bags

Included in our OOT welcome bags were items to "represent" us as well as some necessities. :)  The tag explained the items, as best as I could, and thanked our guests for coming.

- Mini Heath bars, because they're made in my hometown.
- A John Deere toy tractor, because John Deere headquarters are in DH's hometown.
- Pens, with our college logo on them.
- Cookies, from a local bakery in St. Louis where we live now.
- Gum, our favorite brand.
- Popcorn, to pop in their hotel room for a snack.
- Water Bottles, with personalized labels.
- A local visitor's guide with maps.
